TheRAconnection is an online community and resource center for rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients and their caregivers. The mission of TheRAconnection is to provide valuable education and support for the estimated 1.3 million adults in the United States living with RA. Developed and managed by OMNI Health Media, TheRAconnection provides comprehensive information about the diagnosis, treatment, and management of RA. In addition, the site provides a daily news service, featured articles, and a community network with which individuals can connect, trade experiences, and support one other.
The course of RA over a lifetime varies across individuals and is certainly influenced by treatment. Some people may experience a single episode that resolves within a few months or years; others may experience fluctuating symptoms (periods of few symptoms followed by periods of worse symptoms or “flares”). Still others may have symptoms that get progressively worse. Although there is no cure for RA, early detection and effective treatment can substantially reduce pain and disability for many patients. TheRAConnection serves as an invaluable resource for individuals living with the disease.
